Just a year after Season 1 ended with Episode 10, we’re back with Season 2, which will cover Döblin’s life and work from 1933 to his death in 1957, and his growing posthumous reputation.
S2 Ep1, launched today (15 April 2025), covers the nerve-wracking three days in February/March 1933 when Germany was turned upside down and Döblin was urged to flee for his life into exile. He had no idea that twelve years would pass before he could return to Germany.
S2 Ep2 , scheduled for 1 May 2025, covers the seven years that Döblin and his family spent in France – before they had to flee again as the Germans invaded in May 1940.
